Blockchain and the (autonomous) transfer of risk

11/22/18, 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM (CET)

This session will focus autonomous risk transfer protocols and distributed insurance. It will contrast the initiatives among incumbents with those seen among the startups of the blockchain ecosystem. It discuss the latest use cases being built by blockchain native insurtech startups, ranging from smart contract enabled flight and crop insurance, to a hurricane insurance platform in Puerto Rico and a purely decentralized risk sharing coded mutual in the UK. Magda will also look at the risks and challenges associated with these models and how quickly we can expect them to become market significant.
